Eligibility For Bonus - Bonus Eligibility [Thread 101985]

hi,
i worked for a company for bout 2 yrs (from 2005-2007). i quit that company. i would like to know if i am eligible to get the bonus amount being an ex-employee.

Hi Suma,
Please be informed that there is no policy in any corporate that I have every come across which suggests that bonus be paid to ex employees.
Please confirm if this is your query or are you talking about delay in paying bonus?

Dear suma
As per payment of bonus act an employee is entitled for Bonus for the period of service he has rendered. If you come under the purview of payment of Bonus Act i.e if your salary is less than Rs 10000 then you can claim for Bonus. in otherwise case, you have to refer the policy of your Company regarding payment of Bonus

Hi Suma,
I did not intend to be obnoxious there.
But please note the cases where ex employees are considered for bonuses but it has to be the current year:
A) Termination of employment due to pregnancy or disablement, when the said termination is mutually agreed.
B) In case of takeovers ex employees who have worked for more than six months of the calendar year are sometimes eligible for bonuses if mentioned in the partnership agreement.
Anyways I find no harm in verifying the fact to what your collegues have mentioned, More money is never bad.
