What kind of soft skill training are you looking for?

There are many considerations to be made, e.g., the industry type, requirements of the trainees, etc. Please mention the need of the employees, and you will see that the sky is the limit.

Hi,

I am working in a software company and want to provide training to developers, TLs, and PMs. You are right that soft skills itself is a broad term. I want to cover every aspect, such as interpersonal skills, leadership skills, communication skills, body language, time management, positive attitude, motivational skills, team skills, eye contact, facial expressions, critical thinking skills, etc.

Actually, they don't know how to write emails, how to behave with fellow employees and clients, lack self-motivation, are reluctant to take initiatives, lack team skills, and make inappropriate comments on someone's dressing, among other issues. These are the challenges I am facing in the company.

I have outlined what I need, so please help me out.

Thanks, -Neha

Thanks a lot, Bhaskar, but we don't want to outsource it this time. If in the near future there is any need, surely I'll let you know.

Thanks,
Tina

Dear Neha,

This is serious. All that you mentioned sounds disastrous to the work culture of your organization. Listed below is the order in which you need to go about your trainings:

1. Work culture - understand its need & importance, advantages & disadvantages
2. Attitudes & positive attitudes
3. Communication Skills - body language included
4. Business etiquettes & corporate manners
5. Interpersonal skills
6. Leadership skills
7. Time Management

Keep a lot of role play & interactive activities to give it a more hands-on experience. This order has been given after analyzing the need of the hour. I would suggest that you have a reinforcement period that can vary depending on the topic. This will enable them to apply their newly acquired skills into practice. Simultaneously keep a record of each trainee manager & reward the one that shows the use of the trainings in their jobs & improvement in their team handling skills.

I could help you with this as and when you need it. You could contact me at gourigokarn@gmail.com for further assistance.

Warm Regards,
Gogo

Hi Tina/Neha,

You need to give them a lot of spoken and written communication exercises and activities. There should be regular follow-ups. Give feedback and ask them to work on it. Basic mock sessions should be conducted on alternative days for 1-2 hours. Record the observations to track their improvement. Handle one module at a time and split it for a few days so that they have a chance to demonstrate the same and to implement it.

I can share some presentations; email the topics to

Cheers!

Hi,

Since I understand that you are not interested in outsourcing the training, you can consider looking for a freelance trainer who can provide the training. I would like to refer Mr. B. G. Satyendra, a freelance trainer based in Pune. He has good experience in training software professionals and has conducted training for companies like Avaya and Ignify Software in the past. You can contact him at 9860421725 to discuss the possibility further.

Kunal Ghosh.
