I think that since the company is paying for your time you have to work for the benefit of the company.
1. You can change your work timing to match US
2. You can spend the morning session to prepare for your afternoon sessions. Improve your performance. Pick up on skills which will be useful for your job.
3. If the work does not require 8 hours you can consider it as a part time job (re negotiate your contract) and take up some other work part time.
