Is A “Curriculum Vitae” Different From A Resume?

This is a good article differentiating between the Resume & C.V. but more interest is given to Resume rathan than C.V. in detailing the same. But present trend everyone ask for C.V. even it is for a clerical job, as no employer knows what to ask. Yes this give an idea to employers also what to ask whether C.V or Resume in the future.

Dear All,
The word Curriculum Vitae, in short called as C.V. comes from latin. Meaning "Educational Background". A C.V. is mostly carried by those freshers who are looking for their first job. In that, they can only mention their educational details rather than experience. Hence it is called C.V. Resume or Profile on the other hand is purely a Biodata prepared by a professional for his second and so on jobs.

whoa...i thought they were the same meaning except one for english style and the other one for american style.
