Dear Pankaj Sharma,
Welcome to CiteHR,,
Yes, defence personnel can work for human Resources. As you got diploma in HR. Your experience of working in navy as a administrator benefits you a lot. Although HR looks similar to the administration, but both are separate departments.
Your admisitrative experience will ease you to work in HR. As you have no relavent HR experience, you may get entry at Senior HR executive or at A.M HR. I am not sure about the Salary.
Wish you best of luck for your future endeavour.
Plz donot feel hesitate to contact me at any time.

Regards,

Dear Pankaj Sir,
You can definitely get an opportunity in HR keeping your defence background into consideration.
You start seraching for a position at a AM level or a manager level, as i was earlier working for the company where my divisional head was from Defence.
Sir, you can also try for admin department as coordinator-facilities and admin.that may prove to be the best option for u.
So, all the best.

Hi,
Well, defence person would definitely suitable for HR jobs due to their disciplinary attitude. Many Employers prefer defence personnel for their admin/HR department. I have seen few defence personal working with Civil Infrastructure Organization.
As such you have admin experience; you may opt jobs in Admin/Payroll department and gradually switch over to HR functions once you get entry into corporate.
The salary is absolutely depends on kinds of Employer which may vary from 30k to 60k per month based on your exposure in your domain.
You can obviously try for HR jobs in corporate. All the best in your endeavour for getting suitable role in corporate world.
Thanks & Regards,

Dear Mr. Pankaj Sharma,
Having an administrative exposure in defence and background of HR, it is not deficult for you to get the job in HR. I like the personality of army and navy personnel. They are so disciplined and goal oriented personnel. They have strong desire to achieve anything. In my previous company, I was reporting to Lt.Col, who was heading HR. I was impressed from his personality irrespective of his behaviour, attitude, desire to achieve goal, in presentation manner, etc.
Now a days, companies are picking defence personnel for it's admin / HR department to run the show in a disciplined, well cultured manner/way.
You may approach any job consultancies / upload your CV in job portals.
Thanks,
tnx

Dear Pankaj,
You are certainly qualified for HR positions. However you will be successful in a billet that matches your exposure to HR functions.
I would suggest that it would be correct approach to treat this as a different innings and not carry on from where you left in Navy.
Your email id suggests you served as a PO writer in the Indian Navy. If this is correct you may think of getting inducted as an HR Executive and not worry too much about the Salary part. Once you have the required exposure to HR, you will certainly fit into HR Manager position.
If you think of relocating to Mumbai, I could suggest few openings.
Best regards,
Deepak

Hi Welcome to Citehr Family.. In my opinion many organization recruits an ex-army person as Vigilance Officer. Even we had same type of person for that post. All the very best. Truly Yours, Kumar.H.P
