The holidays in private establishments are regulated by separate state enactments. In Andhra Pradesh, an Act, namely, The Andhra Pradesh Factories and Establishments (National, Festival, and Other Holidays) Act, 1974, is in place. Every establishment is expected to notify in November the holidays it will observe in the coming year. As per the Andhra Act, five such festival holidays are available. These holidays are declared after consulting with the employees. This is in addition to January 26th, August 15th, and October 2nd, which are national holidays. If your establishment has declared Eid as a holiday, then only it will be a holiday for your establishment.
