I am a HR manager joined present organization 2 months back. We are having contract employees from different contracts. As per the agreement the contractors need to pay pf for all their respective employees. We doubt it wasn't paid properly. Initially we asked for ECR statement from contractor but we have a doubt it is edited or contribution is remitted to someone else. We have asked access to the contractor employer portal, as most of the contract employees are uneducated and don't even have access to their pf details. We also tried accessing passbook through their uan (member portal) but wasn't successful as even their mobile were not matching with their uan. Is there any screen / option in EMPLOYER portal to view employee pf passbook entries, so that we can verify each employee previous contributions also.

Employer cannot view the passbook of the workers engaged though a third party. You will have to rely on the documents (ECR) submitted by the contractor. If you feel that the contractor has edited the same, you can call him for a meeting and ask him to show the contribution details in hour presence. If the telephone number and the employees names mismatch occurs, you should not continue the contract but initiate very strict action including stoppage of payment and termination of the contract.
