Hi all, I need clarification for the query below: Mr. X has joined our organization and passed away after serving a two-month period (due to natural causes).
According to the company rule/system, it indicates the eligibility for gratuity for the remaining period until his retirement age.
Would he be eligible for gratuity? If so, could you please advise on the clause?
Thank you.

Hii Shiva, If the length of qualifying service is less than one year: Gratuity to be paid is 2 times of basic salary or 2 months basic salary shall be paid against gratuity. Regards, Prem Soni

You should always provide the full details of the problem and the background circumstances, or you may receive an incorrect answer. Where is this requirement of paying gratuity until retirement coming from? Does your company have such a scheme, or is it an insurance policy that has been taken? Please provide all required details.
