I have recently started contract manpower services in one state; currently, our number of manpower is less than 20. I want to know if I am required to register myself under the Contract Labour Act as a contractor. As per the state contract act, the eligibility is 50. Please suggest.

No, I don’t see why you need to do it. If the limit is 50, then you need to get a license only on getting to that number

I have started working as a contract manpower service provider, where we provide contract manpower to different companies in various states. Currently, our total number of contractual manpower is less than 20, working across different companies.

Registration Under the Contract Labour Act

My question is, in order to begin this work, do I need to register myself under the Contract Labour Act from the outset, or should I apply for registration after my manpower exceeds 50 individuals?

That is exactly what I meant You do not need to get a license till you cross 50 workers.
