Impact of the Seventh Pay Commission on Different Sectors
The Seventh Pay Commission pertains solely to Central Government employees. It does not affect the pay and perks of employees in the Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) and certainly has no impact on those in the private sector.
Of course, if there are drastic changes in terminal benefits, such as gratuity, it might lead to amendments in the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, as has occurred in the past. However, this is uncertain given the recent enactment of new labor codes.
