We have a company registered in karnataka. We have 10 employees. Recently, few of our employee moved to Tamilnadu state as we have work from home policy. They will work permanently from there. My question is as we pay professional Tax in karnataka, do we also need to pay Tamilnadu PT for the employees who moved to TN?

PT is a tax levied and collected by a Local Administrative Body like panchayats, municipal corporation's etc., from the residents who engage themselves in any profession within their territories.
Therefore, if WFH becomes a regular feature, the employees have to pay their PT to the local body in whose area they reside and do the WFH.

I do agree to Umakanthan.
Its quite interesting point for discussion.
Please note the employees are not working in other offices in TN but WFH is the benefit extended to the employees due to Pandemic or various reasons & still such employee's work location is mapped to Karnataka only hence I feel its to be paid to Karnataka only
