Dear Experts, can anyone guide me with the calculation of retrenchment? Please note that one of our existing manufacturing units is going to be closed due to low production and lack of profitability since the lockdown started. The management has decided not to continue with that unit. Most of the workers are permanent employees, a few work on third-party payroll, and a few staff members will also be eligible for retrenchment.

Any suggestions or guidance on the process and calculation would be greatly appreciated.

An elaborate answer can be provided if you provide the average number of employees on the roll in the cadre of "workman" under section 2(s) of the ID Act, 1947 during the preceding 12-month period in the establishment on the date of the proposed retrenchment.
