If any holidays fall on a Sat or Sun for a company that works Mon-Fri... Is it necessary to allow extra substitute holiday for those?
for example: if holi or independence day falls on a Sunday ... should the company provide extra holidays in place of those holidays?
Now i gave the below list of holidays + 2 optional choice of festival holidays: employee say sun sat holiday must be substituted. I want to know what is common practice?

Coincidence of any national or festival holiday on a weekly holiday for the establishment or an individual employee is a natural phenomenon. If the employee is only required to work on that day, he is entitled to the benefits of double wages or alternative holiday as per the applicable law in this regard. On the contrary, if he is allowed to avail the holiday, it automatically merges with the holiday.
