Dear Friends,
Can anybody give an idea about the salary structure for Recruiters and HR executives (1-2 years of experience) in Recruitment consultancy? It would be helpful if I could gain insight into the same since we are looking to expand our team of recruiters.

Hi Jigsha,
As far as the industry is concerned, it has different slabs for fresher with no experience in recruiting and experience with some idea and knowledge. For fresher, which means no work experience (whatever degree they have; whether MBA or plain graduate; MBAs are fresher for recruiters), it can go for a maximum of 10k. For experienced individuals, it varies from 12-15k (1-2 years of experience).
I guess I have answered your query.
Best regards,
Shrawani

Hello,
I believe there cannot be exact guidelines for deciding a candidate's salary. We can have a general salary figure in mind based on the organization's profitability.
Many factors need to be considered before finalizing a deal with a candidate, such as:
(1) His/Her educational qualifications
(2) Academic records throughout
(3) Work experience in the related field
(4) Success achieved by the candidate in the previous organization
(5) Communication skills (important for almost all positions)
(6) Ability to get along with people
(7) Availability factor as required by the company
(8) Personality (if it matters for the related position)
(9) Skill level in the related field, and many more.
Therefore, evaluating a candidate is a complex process, and the salary figure could be determined based on the suitability of a candidate considering the above parameters. As mentioned earlier, one can keep a general figure in mind and arrive at a specific figure based on how many parameters the candidate fulfills.

Hi Shrawani,
Ours is a small organization with around 10 employees. As the workload is not very high, we prefer to hire minimum graduates rather than MBA candidates. In this type of organization, what would be the typical compensation packages offered for non-MBA individuals? I would like to delve deeper into this topic. If anyone has experience in consultancy, please provide further insights.

Hello Jisha,
I am afraid you have not provided any details of frontline employees. It always varies from position to position. Moreover, the city status also plays a role in it.
If we talk about HR Executive Fresher (For Rajkot City), the starting salary based on the degree will range somewhere between 6-8k. But if we talk about cities like Ahmedabad, then it will range from 8-10k for MBA (HR). And it is always a bit more for metros.
Let me know if you need any further inputs.

Aakash,
It depends on what kind of assignments you have assigned to your team members in a placement company. You can design some sort of units to measure the average salary that you place, and attaining a certain number of units per month will lead to earning a specific amount of incentive. You can offer "x%" per "y" units in increasing order.
I hope this will help you.
Thanks,
Philip

Hi Hema,
The salary ranges between 8k to 15k for freshers who hold an MBA. The next thing is it depends on the institute from where the candidate came. Thirdly, it mainly depends on the company. I hope I have provided some useful information.

Hi Rahul,
The incentives for HR recruiters should most definitely be based on the number of positions they close. For example, you could set targets for each, like closing 15 positions every week. This would be a benchmark standard. If they exceed this target, they would be eligible for incentives, either a percentage or a fixed amount.
For any more details, you could reach me at: j_anz@rediffmail.com.

Hi,
According to Kelly's Salary Guide 2006, an MBA-HR/PGDBM with 1-2 years of experience in the same industry has a market value of 13-16k. This value will vary from state to state, industry, and the level of skill/caliber that a particular aspirant possesses.

Hi,
When talking about a small firm, the salary range is typically between 7K and 10K. For middle-level companies, it varies from 10K to 12K, and for larger, more established companies, it can go up to a maximum of 15K. If a person has 1-2 years of experience, I believe the maximum salary for them would fall between 12K and 15K, depending on their current compensation.

Hi!
I'm from Calcutta and am currently pursuing an MBA in HR from ICFAI through a distance program. Recently, I secured a job as a Recruiter in a consultancy firm. During the interview, when I was asked about my expected salary, I didn't mention any figure as I was unsure about how much to request. Consequently, they offered me 6500 for the initial training period of six months, with the possibility of an increase afterward.
I have 8 months of work experience in Dell and Wipro BPO, but I am a newcomer to the HR field. Therefore, I didn't engage in any negotiation at that time. Upon reflection, I now believe that the offer was too low. I am expected to join next month, and I wish to negotiate my salary. However, I am unsure about how to proceed. Is it appropriate for me to negotiate at this stage? Do you think they will agree to raise my salary? Also, how much should I request?
Please help!

Hi lovelygrg,
Your situation is critical, however, at least you have a job in hand. There are three ways to tackle the situation:
- You can ask your current employer about the future prospects in the company, incentive programs, and growth.
- You have one month of time, so keep on trying for other jobs as well if you feel unsatisfied already (i.e., before joining).
- Since you will be a recruiter in a consultancy, you have a lot of market open for you to find an appropriate job for you later.
Hope these suggestions are of some help to you. Good luck.

Hi, Jyotsna!
There are a lot of other consultancies here where I'm sure I can get in, but how much should I ask them for? Incentives are given here, and targets are 10 times of salary. So, suppose I get 10k, then my target would be 100k. Would that be achievable? Because I haven't finished my course yet. I will work along with MBA (distance).
I'm very confused! Should I wait for MBA to get over by January, or should I start working now itself? Because if I don't start working now, then even after I complete MBA (HR) distance from ICFAI, I would still have to start with the same salary!
Thank you.

Hi again lovelygrg,
Since you have not yet completed your MBA, I feel the salary package is fine enough. If you feel your salary is less, then it is clear that your target will also be less. Work for some time to find out whether you can achieve this target.
Do find out what the target trend is in Kolkata (through friends or by applying at various consultancies). There are many people doing MBA through correspondence and also working. I won't suggest you to do nothing while doing an MBA (correspondence). If you have experience in HR before completing your MBA, then your future prospects seem good.
Luv and Luck,

Hello, friends! I am an MBA student specializing in HR. Now that our campus placements have started, I want to know how much salary package should I, as a fresher in the HR field, expect. I also want to ask what would be better to start a career with - a consultancy or a company?
