My PF withdrawal has failed recently, and the reason for the rejection is: "Claim Rejected MEMBER WAS AN EPS MEMBER IN PREVIOUS ESTT WHEREAS NON EPS MEMBER IN PRESENT ESTT." This was an online request using the UAN portal.
My work history is as follows:
Oct 2013 to March 2019 - Company A. Here, I had a PF component and EPS component in my salary - approximately EPS was 1,200 rs a month.
March 2019 - I quit Company A and joined Company B.
March 2019 to Sep 2019 - Company B. My PF was transferred to the new company's account number, but in this firm, I am not enrolled for EPS contribution.
I am currently not employed in India and am out of the country. How do I resolve this issue and retrieve my hard-earned money?
Please guide me. Thanks a lot.

Once the employee is registered in EPS, he will remain a contributory member of EPS until the last day of working or 58 years of age. Please verify this information with your establishment's HR department.
Previous UAN holders cannot be treated as excluded employees under EPS or EPS.

Thanks for your response. Does this mean I won't be able to get my EPF and EPS money till I'm 58? My ex-company's HR/Finance people are not helping me, and the PF office mentioned I need to reach out to the employer. I have not been employed in India since September 2019. What can I do now? Please guide me.

In the new establishment, you have to continue your EPS as you were previously a member of EPS in past service records, and this cannot be discontinued unless the member attains the age of 58 or older. Once the member has joined EPS, there is no way to exit during the entire service span.
You can discuss with the present establishment why they did not pay the contributed EPS, as it cannot be avoided for existing EPS contributors below the age of 58. Out of the employer's part of 12%, 8.33% goes to EPS, and the balance goes to EPF for all previous UAN holders who are below the age of 58.

Did your issue get resolved? I am in a similar problem. The last company did not contributed EPS as a result my 12 years of EPF fund withdrawal is held up and rejected. How did you solve it?
