This interpretation exists that a heart attack is also an accident for which compensation is payable provided the heart attack could be causally linked to the nature of job done by the deceased employee, the stress and strain of it. In certain instances it has been held that if the employee had a previous medical history and it was second or subsequent heart attack then compensation is not payable. However, it is a dicey situation and much depends on how the case is put up.
