Hii, Kindly help me with P.T applicability. My company is based in Mumbai-Maharashtra but in the last two months, we started hiring an employee on a pan India basis. In this regard I would like to know if the employee is based in West Bengal or any other state then should we deduct PT as per his state or as per the company's origin.

Where you have taken the PT Regn., Maharashtra or WB? And where the employee is drawing his salary? Is he covering WB on tour or stationed there?

An employee working for a company loacated in x state and have ptrc registration taken from that state and where the salary sheet is made under the company name, then it is obvious the pt of that state will be applicable.

If your employees worked as deputation/temporary basis then no need to take separate P tax registration & if employees works as regular basis then you have to take separate P tax registration for West Bengal. there is an online registration process. refer this link www.egovwbcomtax.gov.in
