The company wants to terminate an employee but we don't want to issue him a termination letter but wants him to give a resignation letter for his career perspective so that's why we asked him to send a formal resignation email for immediate relieving.
He is not performing well for the last 6 months as per exceptions and also we mentioned his name in the PIP program on Feb-2020 and we have all performance issue emails for the last two months. Is there any impact due to the present situation to follow the above procedure?

Termination of an employee definitely have an impact in the present Covid-19 situation. That is
why your management has taken a right decision of 'forced resignation'.
You may ask the employee concerned to formally tender his letter of resignation based on which
you can initiate all separation formalities, followed in your company.
