Hi, can anyone please help me with the following case study: MILK PRODUCTS LTD.

This industry is engaged in collecting, processing, and distributing their products on a daily basis. The company has a crew of distributors.

Mr. Kamlesh (B.Com) joined the crew of distributors. The Distribution Manager was impressed by Kamlesh but could not offer him a better job than that of a distributor. He promised to give him a better opportunity whenever available.

Distributors are employed on a monthly salary basis. To ensure the distribution of products, the company has a provision for overtime pay. Normally, crew members work slowly in the beginning just to accumulate overtime pay. The pace becomes hectic towards the end of the day with some overtime to meet the distribution schedule. With no group leader and old-timers influencing newcomers, Kamlesh did not like this.

After a year, impressed by Kamlesh's performance, the Manager offered him the post of DISTRIBUTION SUPERVISOR. The basic duties of the Supervisor include looking after distribution and developing new customers in a given area. Besides Kamlesh, there were 4 other supervisors.

Kamlesh was sure he could improve the distribution system as he was aware of the delaying tactics of the crew. He talked to the manager about fixing the quota of work per day in two parts before and after lunch. The Distribution Manager felt convinced and introduced the system. However, the efficiency dropped down, and no crew member was near the target.

Question:

A) Discuss how Mr. Ramesh and the Distribution Manager can run their department successfully?

B) "Milk Products Limited is engaged in collecting, processing, and distributing milk and milk products in a large city in South India."

In the mentioned statement, which type of 'Bases of Departmentation' is discussed?
