Dear All, Please confirm if Company can deduct Gratuity from Gross Salary?
Can the Basic of any employee be decreased in the increment cycle? Employee basic has been decreased after appraisal.

Gratuity, being a one-time lumpsum terminal benefit solely by the employer, requires no contribution, either periodical or otherwise, from the employee.
I think that the action by the employer goes against the very logic of the concept of increment. Increment means the marginal increase. So, during an increment cycle, the salary should be increased or not increased to the next step but cannot be reduced due to poor performance.
Reduction in the basic salary consequent on appraisal is punitive which would be illegal in the absence of a formal disciplinary proceedings preceding it.

Please guide me that i have join the orgainsation two times and my account epf is setteld but third time organisation failed to generate my third account number But my UAN is same. NOW my epf contribution is deposited in my setteled account my date of joing from 01/07/2017 to 01/06/2019 my current doj is not showing in my portal neither in employer portal previous date of joining showing there now i update my date of leaving current 01/06/2019 organisation saying your case is setteled so sir where is my current period two years contribution please guide me and how can i get my two years contribution from epfo please guide me

If employee dies before superanuation, whether gratuity is applicable up to his superanuation age OR gratuity applicable only for served length ?? In case company has insured with LIC.

Strictly speaking as per the provisions of the Payment of Gratuity Act,1972, gratuity is payable on;y for the period of service actually rendered as on the date of death of the employee. Under any normal insurance policy covering the employer's liability to pay gratuity in such a case the amount of gratuity would be the same. But there is a special gratuity insurance policy with life cover of the employee at a higher rate of premium under which in case of death before superannuation, the employee would receive the amount of gratuity had he served up to the age of superannuation but for the death.
