Hi, I am currently working in an IT MNC in Mumbai for 2 years. For the past year, I have been on the bench. Here, we use a card-punching attendance system. We have to punch our cards and fill out timesheets, which are then approved by the supervisor. Since last September, I used to come to the office once or twice a month just to fill out all my timesheets (I know I was wrong; I had some personal reasons). Now, after 8 months, my supervisor caught me and reported it to HR. I want to know what actions can be taken against me. Will I be terminated, or will the company legally ask me to pay the entire salary? Please help.

Dear Friend,

Whatever you have done is absolutely unacceptable as an employee because the employer is paying the salary, and you have misled the company for 8 months. Therefore, the company now has the full right to terminate you or recover the salary from you.
