Dear Senior,
I would like to know that what statutory compliance to be followed when separate building construction activity has been started by third party civil contractor having approx 200 civil labours in a factory situated in state Gujarat.??? (Statutory compliances from HR, Legal & Safety point of view)
Kindly provide me all type of registers to maintain , or any license to apply?? as i have to prepare list of such compliance to do and accordingly inform the contractor for the preparation.
Expecting your prompt inputs in this matter.

Dear Imran,
Please note :
a. all civil labours responsibilities' of contractor not the company
b. The land owner has to take permission from land & building department to start construction or extension of the floor. Say 4th floor or 5th floor.

Hi Imran,
Please scroll through the below mentioned point for your info:
1- Contractor must have a License under CLRA Act having having manpower strength which includes all the working labourers.
2- Notice of commencement of work need to submit to the authority.
3- If five or more inter state workers are being employed there, contractors must have license under ISMW Act.
4- If ten or more than ten building construction workers are being employed, contractor should have Registration certificate under BOCW (RE& CS Act)
5- All the amenities provided under BOCW act related to helath, safety and welfare of workers should be provided.
6- If work is being done in the premises of the factory and building which is being constructed is for a purpose of keeping finished goods of the factory in this situation BOCW act will be applicable but if Building is being constructed for the purpose of manufacturing activity then bocw act will not be applicable.
7- PF and ESIC contributions should be submitted for all workers.
8- Various registers need to be prepaired under aforesaid Acts.
9- Experts advise must be taken to full fill all the compliance.
