It's customary in many companies to obtain a bond prescribing certain restrictions on accounts of training—both in India and abroad. At the same time, there are no such restrictions when employees are sent abroad for a few years on a job. After this stint, they will be repatriated. Since they are there for shorter periods on work visas, often on jobs familiar to them, in these cases, no agreement or bond would be necessary. However, a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is invariably insisted upon, especially by MNCs. When employees are provided specialized training and sent abroad for training and development, a bond is usually insisted upon.
