Hello seniors/friends, I am working at IBM as a contract employee. Initially, I was promised that I would become a permanent employee after six months. When I asked my manager, he informed me that hiring has been stopped at IBM, and there is still no update. I am considering changing companies after completing two years here.
During interviews, I have been told that a maximum notice period of 30 days is acceptable. However, my notice period is 60 days, and there is no room for negotiation as per our HR.
Could you please suggest the best course of action? Should I wait longer here to potentially secure a permanent position, or should I resign and search for opportunities elsewhere?

Dear Laxmikanth,
In the selection of any career or switching jobs, no one can give you better advice than yourself, for you only know your problems, potentiality, and preferences. To me, it would be better to be a regular employee in a small but similar organization than to be a contract employee in a larger organization when the door for regular employment there stands closed indefinitely.
