Unable to understand your requirement. Why the employees required to update their leaves as the leave record is to be maintained by HR team. At the beginning of the calendar year the HR will credit the leaves and will debit to individual employee account on availing of the leaves. In case the employees are staying away with out any prior intimation / approval those are going to be treated as absent and to that extent the salary / wage shall be deducted. As far as leaves are concerned leaves are not their right it is the prerogative of the management.
