In Karnataka, there is no requirement for any special declaration in this regard, unlike many other states where a separate notification will be issued by the Labour Department. This is because under the Karnataka Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act, there is a special provision (section 3A) to grant a holiday on election day.
