I am working in a private sector. I had completed 4 years 6 months, after 6 months am going to take maternity leave. May I eligible for gratuity.Kindly advise,How can they calculate gratuity.
From India, Coimbatore
Yes, as per above given scenario you are entitled for gratuity.

You will get gratuity when you leave the job or retire from the job. If you are proceeding on Maternity leave and will re-join after the leave there is no question of Gratuity being calculated.
In any case, if you will go on leave after 6 months, you would have completed 5 years of service thus, you will be eligible for Gratuity, if you plan not to return to the job after the maternity leave.

You are eligible for the gratuity, if you left the job.
Gratuity calculation if you left the company:
Basic+DA/26*15*No. of year you worked.
You have to work more then 4 years and 6 month to achieve gratuity, It will be treat as 5 Years.
