Most of the PF Inspectors demand the balance sheet of employers along with statutory registers at the time of inspection by PF authorities. They calculate 30% of PF contributions based on the expenditure on salary shown in the balance sheet. Under which rule and authority can a PF inspector demand the balance sheet?
PF inspectors should only ask for the muster roll, register of wages, PF challans, and ECR. Is this not a way of arm-twisting employers?
