There can not be designation as CEO-Sales? CEO, to my knowledge goes is 'Chief Executive Officer', who controls and executes business of the organisation, including sales and marketing! In fact the sales team reports to him! For CEO a part of his salary is linked to annual performance of the Organisation overall.
CEO appointment is based normally on board resolution. Managing Director / Director (operation) decides CEO's salary structure, based on the market value of the post and the candidate, and board's approval. The Salary is normally a pay basket, and the same will be apportioned by the candidate hinself for his tax benefits. Out of total CTC 30% to 40% would be linked to overall performance of the organisation and may be some times preference in company's share option also.
