Hi Siri,
I feel really happy and appreciate your career interest towards HR function.
The IT/ITES sector and few other sectors have been witnessing lots of changes in terms of restructuring the companies, merger, acquisition and so on. In this fast moving corporate industry, it is very vital that HR folks should be capable enough to face the new challenges.
For this, a complete understanding about HR policies, processes, HR operations, strategies will help us to sustain and able to meet the company's demands.
Though recruitment is a key function to hire right candidates at right time, there are technologies and there are manpower with moderate cost to get the job done. This is not a threat for recruiters, yet, recruiters can become, Talent acquisition leads, managers, directors and so on.
Under HR function, there are many sub-functions with specific skill set requirements ( Talent acquisition, Training, Talent Management, HR Operations, HR system, and so on). Always there will be scope for the experts on these areas.
However, having wider exposure in HR function will help you to gather as much knowledge as you grow and for sure it will help you to achieve what you want to be.
There are plenty of documents in this site for you to learn and grow. There are posts for HR roles and responsibilities and for each role you will be able to find a lot of indepth knowledge from the senior experts here. For any query, you can always write here.
Knowledge and experience are 2 different weapons. You will learn few thins only by experience hence, understand your current company structure, HR team, their skills and try to make use of it. Also, try to switch to other HR teams if possible.
Some of my friends with your level of experience from recruitment, moved as HR executives, HR operations specialists and they are enjoying.
There are always high demand for talents.
Good luck,
Thiyagu
