Our factory is located near Maraimalai Nagar, and some of our employees are commuting from R.K. Nagar daily. Since the by-election is going to be held on 21-12-17 at RK Nagar, do we need to give on-duty time for the employees to vote on the election day (as our factory is not located in the election constituency), or do they have to apply for leave on that day? Please clarify for anyone who is knowledgeable on this subject.

We had allowed duty off for exercising their franchise after the employee reported for duty or allowed late on duty after exercising franchise subject to verification of proof of being a voter in the constituency in which voting is to take place.
