Hi Team, I have applied for an Air Ticketing position on indeed.com, and they contacted me to conduct a few rounds of interviews. Later, they informed me that I got selected and sent an offer letter to my personal email address. I'm not sure whether the offer letter is genuine or fake since there is no sign or stamp on the offer letter. I am totally confused and in a dilemma about whether to wait until the joining date or ignore it and look out for a new job. I have attached the offer letter for your reference. Please share your inputs.

Thanks.

Hello Vittal,

Your question is quite valid and it's really important to ensure you are dealing with a legitimate offer. Here are some steps you can follow to verify the authenticity of your job offer:

1. 📞 Contact the Company: The simplest way to verify the authenticity of the offer letter is by contacting the company directly. You can call their official phone number listed on their website and inquire about the job offer. Make sure you are contacting the official number and not any number provided in the suspicious offer letter.

2. 🌐 Visit the Company Website: Check if the company has any vacancies listed on their official website that match the position you applied for.

3. 📧 Email Verification: The email address from which you received the offer letter should be a company domain. Be wary if it's a common email provider like Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail.

4. 📝 Check the Offer Letter Details: A genuine offer letter will usually include details like job description, work hours, salary, benefits, and start date. If any of these crucial details are missing, it could be a red flag.

5. 💼 Consult with Industry Professionals: If you're still unsure, you can also seek advice from HR professionals or industry colleagues. They might be able to provide some insights based on their experience.

6. 🚫 No Fees: Be aware that legitimate companies do not typically ask for any kind of fees or money in return for a job offer. If your offer asks for money, it's likely a scam.

7. 🔎 Background Check: Conduct a thorough background check of the company. You can use platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, or Google to gather information about the company.

Remember, it's always better to double-check before taking any steps. If the offer is genuine, the company will not mind your due diligence.

In the meantime, while you're verifying this offer, it may be beneficial to continue your job search just in case. This way, you won't be putting all your hopes on this single opportunity.

Best of luck! 🍀
