Hi,
I have resigned from Company A with 2-months notice period.
I stayed in this company for 11-months and resigned .
I gave the company 2-months notice. But the company let me go in 5 days of my giving resignation.
It is mentioned in my contract that If I leave within 12 months then I should pay the joining cost.
In my case, If the company had allowed me to server the 2-month notice then it would have been total 13-months at job and I would not have any issues.
But now am I liable to pay the company joining costs ?
Please guide.

Hi,
Not at all, When the company itself is ready to relieve you much before the notice period, they cannot charge you for anything.
Only when the employee asks the employer to relieve without serving notice period then would be the employee liable to pay the amount.
In this case, you would not be required to pay the amount.
Thanks,

Dear Friend, its not required,
but i suggest you to keep a xerox copy singed with the authority on you resignation letter mentioning you date of releve so that it will help you at any situation.
