India needs fair labour laws.
On one side we have PSUs where labor enjoy without fear-overtime,no proper timings and waste time playing cards and on other side we have unprotected labour-security guards, salesmen of small firms who have no security whatsoever.
Protection of labour laws do not exist in practical terms for them-costly to litigate, indifferent labour officers etc.
Balanced labour protection is needed where companies can fire when necessary, but have to be fair in dealings.
It should not be mere lip service that labour is an important resources.
They are important and should be treated well as such.
