I am Tharuna and I represent Asthtva. We do conduct self defense workshops for women.

Our experience has shown that just a 4 hour workshop can make some transformational changes in the way women perceive their position of power in society. GITT – Give It to Them – enables women to not only discover their “latent” abilities, but also help develop and train their strengths to ensure that they are capable of protecting themselves. They are also enabled to protect themselves against potential situations of abuse, bullying, threats, violence and assault – that could be rampant in any scenario.



This workshop is aimed at educating women on the importance of protecting their dignity and focuses on postponing the acts of potential aggressors through a combination of mental, physical and creative abilities.



This program will help women learn to:

v Avoid advances, movements and violence affected by aggressors.

v Resist and block advances, movements and violence.

v Inflict counter attacks and escape.



The program involves learning basic body postures and movements to avoid, resist or block aggressors and also boost self-confidence to elude and avoid the aggressors.

Hi Trisha
I have some points in my mind, see if it work for you.
1. Security Guard along with cab drived and ensure that securtiy guards are army retire people, OR their reference checks have done very strongly or you can take help of Police also for doing reference check as police do these things.
2. Female Staff should be picked in last.
3. Tell your female employees very clearly not to sit in cab till the time any of male employee and guard is not in cab, whatever the situation is.

Hi Trisha,
U r question is good.As per my opinion the women are came forward and take their own decision to how to over come with thease type of problem.In bpo the women are working for night shift must bcoz of their sweet voice.As they influence customer with their voice & sell product.So atlast i can say woman must come with their own suggestion.

hi trisha as u asked about GIIT there are many GIIT agents esp men and women agents in T NAGAR SINCE U ARE FROM CHENNAI u might be knowing that place like ask ur emp women to go get trained or ask the giit people to come nd give training to ur emp every sat and sun on self defences because in plaxces like hyd and mumbai and even in banglore women are getting trained and able to defend them selves

Thanks for your appreciation. I'm working as HR- Executive in a Software company, chennai. As per your query on request, a person ,who have been working on BPO as HR -executive can have more exposure in particular department on Recruitment and Selection , Training and Development, Manpower planning,stress management, recreation etc.. Being an HR in BPO industry have more work pressure rather than any other industry. It means, In BPO industry, everyone aware about the attrition problem. So, as HR in BPO we need to look out for the best of candidates and need to maintain employee database & candidate database.
To my knowledge, the person who have very good experience as HR in BPO can easily survive and get in to work on any type of Industry as an HR.

Dear All,

I was working as an HR Officer in an NGO since Sep.2006. I was getting 17000/- salary. I resigned from previous job on Dec.2007. I have joined a new organization for the position of Junior Executive on Jan.2008. It is a big corporate autonomous organization working having approx.1300 workforce under the administrative control of Govt. I have been inducted on contract basis for one year, I was said verbally during interview that after one year you will be regularized and you will be provided all same benefits and allowances as other employees are getting. But in my appointment letter nothing is mentioned about my confirmation of job.

First I was told that you will be hired for the position of Asstt.Manager (HR) with gross salary (18000/). in first interview. In second interview, I was told that you would be hired for the position Junior Executive-III (HR) with 16000/- gross salary. And in third interview, I was told for the position of JE-II with gross salary close to 14000/- gross salary.

I am getting following benefits from my current organization:

- Subsidized lunch

- Conveyance (pick/drop)

- Health insurance/group insurance

I discussed all above-mentioned with my teachers, seniors and well wishers that suggested me that presently where you are working is "not industry" its small organization under 100, working for health research. Don't consider salary, the experience of new job of big industry will help you a lot and you will be getting good opportunities in a very big organization.

When I joined this organization, I was not told my job description, handbook was not provided. So I am not satisfied with my job, every day is very difficult due to unprofessional attitude of my colleagues and bosses. I am not feeling any career growth, because after five years, I will be promoted for the position of JE-III. For AM position, I need to stay in JE-III for five years, and after qualifying promotion test for AM position, I will be promoted following final decision by the competent authority

So, I am not satisfied due to above-mentioned problems.

I have also got opportunity for rejoining from my previous employer but with the previous salary (17000/-). I have demanded 20000 but they are saying to me that after 3 months, we will be giving to you 19000/ salary. So what is your suggestion/guidance, should I join on previous package in previous organization?.

-Medical 80%

-Annual salary raise (10% of gross salary)

-Salary Raise on the basis of performance
