Understanding EPF Exemption and Organizational Pension Fund Management - CiteHR

I am currently working at a state-owned PSU for the last three years. My organization is under the exempted category, so I am unable to view the details of my own fund. Previously, I was working at another central PSU, and my old fund was successfully transferred to my new account.

Question About Exempted and Non-Exempted Funds

Now, my question is: Can I convert my exempted category fund to a non-exempted fund? If my organization will not sustain in the future due to the burden of old employees' pensions (GPF) breaking its fund in the coming years, how will they pay out our EPF fund if the organization is sold to a private company? What will happen to our EPF fund? Is there a monitoring team that ensures the fund if the organization is no longer present?

Understanding Exempted Category EPF

Could you please clarify why this exempted category EPF was created and the benefits behind it?

Thank you.

Dear friends,

Those who provide better benefits than EPFO will get an exemption. Generally, even if EPF is exempted, EPS may be handled by EPFO. If you want details of your account, you may directly approach your PF Trust.

Note: Regarding a member exempted, PF Trust will be better than EPFO.
