If you are confident of handling job in Business Development (BD), then nothing wrong per se. I have seen persons working as Purchase Manager or Ops Manager even with their qualification as MBA (HR).
Nevertheless, you need to upgrade your knowledge about sales. For this you need to take 1-2 day capsule courses on selling skills. Read books on sales also.
