I am currently working in an MNC. My wife has filed a false domestic violence case against me for which the hearing is ongoing. I am looking for a job change. My concern is, will the domestic violence case, being a civil matter, pose a problem when I join another company? Will the MNC have issues hiring someone in my situation? Please help me with this. Thank you.

Dear Justices436,

Clarification on the Nature of the Case

Has your wife filed a case against you only for domestic violence, or is it part of a divorce case? When joining a new company, I recommend declaring that your divorce case is in progress. The mention of a "Divorce Case" could help you establish a foothold in the company.

Company Policies on Personal Matters

Some companies do not delve much into the personal lives of applicants. However, others, including MNCs, are cautious about considering candidates whose personal lives are in turmoil.

Scope of Reconciliation

Lastly, what is the scope of reconciliation? This display of courage or immaturity may be dismissed as a synonym of youthfulness, but it quietly erodes the vitality of life. "Forgive and forget" is a fundamental principle of life responsible for progress. Considering this, my humble suggestion is to exhaust all possibilities for reconciliation.

If you are based in Bangalore, I recommend seeking counseling from a specific counselor. He has facilitated reconciliation in cases where marital discord was at its peak or seemed beyond repair. If he counsels both of you and involves parents from both sides, I can assure you of a happy reunion. Maintain faith in the possibility of reunion.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar

Try to reconcile.

Personal problems do not bother managements in some companies. However, there may be a few companies that look for spotless records from employees. Anyway, it is not good to allow litigation to prolong unnecessarily.

As the learned poster above has advised, try to resolve matters and avoid letting family wealth be spent on legal battles.
