Could you please help me out about the training calendar . How to prepare that. This company basically into wire manufacturing .

Dear Sona Biju,

While making training plan or training calendar, you should ensure that you should conduct only those training programmes that reduce the costs. You are from manufacturing sector. Therefore, your training efforts should be focused to reduce the following costs:

a) Inventory Carrying Cost of Raw Materials

b) Work in Progress (WIP) Inventory Costs

c) Inventory Carrying Cost of Finished Goods

d) Capital costs to run the operations

e) Capacity costs

f) Maintenance costs

g) Quality costs

h) Inspection costs

Any training that does not reduce the above costs is a waste of time and money of your company. Therefore, take a call judiciously before conducting the training. If you implement my suggestion then possibly you may be able to provide the evidence of the cost reduction because of training. The evidence will lend credibility to you as a person and for HR profession as a whole.

Dear All,
Can you please help me in designing the behavioural training calendar for Factory workers. Precisely it is a manufacturing plant and workers really are not so much educated here.
What modules can they be trained on. Request you to please share the same.

What are your current concerned to be sorted out first based on that module can be designed.
There is no behaviour training for workers what training can i start with please suggest. specifically behaviour. They are not much educated also.

Dear Mr.Biju,
As a first step, you are required to identify the training needs in consultation with all HODs and also you can find out the same in Performance Appraisals. Make a consolidated list of training needs, bifurcate in such a way i.e., skill based or behavioual based and design the training calendar for a certain period.
You may schedule the programmes on priority basis covering technical and non-technical programmes. The columns in the training calendar may be;
1) Name of Training Programme
2) Date of Programme
3) Internal / External Programme
4) Internal Faculty / External Faculty
5) Technical Programme / Behavioural Programme
6) Remarks, if any
