Dear HR Members,

I would like to have coffee with you as u HR and I an employee. Assume me as a finance executive..

- What was your dream or ambition as a child?

I wanted to become an engineer .. [ so dear HR i suppose u would be funding my BE and allow me to go home half day with pay to study and fulfil my ambition. Yes or No, or next what if my answer is the above.

- How did you enter this field?

Through the gate.

- What are the biggest challenges you have faced? How did you overcome them?

Never gave me any challenge to face, what you gave me was loads and loads of routine work, now if you call doing a routine work as challenge, then you need to change ur mindset.

- Do you have a role model? Who is it?

You HR you are my role model, the best one in company to survive without doing hard work,, and just discussing,,, i think i can learn a lot from you.

- How do you balance you work and personal life? Are they balanced right now? Is it important to have a perfect balance?

No I am a robot and u have bought me for rs.xxxxx per month, I have no right to any personal life naaa,, would you please check my in and out office timings before asking me this type of question, or may be u start this question with my manager, dept head or CEO, whether my personal and work life is balanced or not... when u mean balance it means equal 50 - 50. So if you tell in a day 24 hrs are there and u work for 12 hrs, thats only mathematically correct, but practically ur exploiting me and ruining my social life ... :( dont u think ur responsible for ruining my social life ,, and made me a robot with no personal life..

- What's gives more learning, education or work experience?

U can give only loads and loads of routine work,, and no learnings...

- What do you think about our work culture? How can we enhance it?

If i tell anything wrong u gonna take it personal [which most hr do] and make life hell for me,, and u cant do anything to enhance it,, i know that,, ur just a dignified clerk,, and nothing more than that,, just for some paper work u conduct this interviews and show that ur employees are contented... YA please make office timings strict only 8 hrs, and fine those who stay after 8, Issue memo to manager who calls me on holidays,.,, [whats ur reply HR]

WHAT I MENTIONED ABOVE ARE REAL ISSUES FACED BY EMPLOYEES,, BUT EVEN AFTER KNOWING THIS HR DOES NOTHING... AND BRINGS COFFEE AND OTHER THINGS,,,

THE FINAL QUESTION COMES ...

DO WE REALLY NEED HR? OR U JUST WORK TO THE INSTRUCTIONS OF MANAGEMENT AND KEEP UR MIND AT HOME AND COME TO WORK TO SAVE UR JOB OF COURSE

Dear Mr. "The HR for HR"
If you can not contribute anything to this forum with quality comments i would prefer that you should not write on my post. i won't allow the comments which better suits in Humour section. If you don't stop making joke out of the post i will certainly ask CiteHR authorities to look into this matter. We are here to help each other not to make joke of them and you better mind it well.

Hi Payal,
Your concept "Coffee with HR" is really great !! We will be eager to know the outcome after you actually implement this :) I am sure you will be able to gather fruitful information after this dialogue.
I have gone through the comments posted by others too.......we can learn one lesson here - you might have to deal with people who may not take this positively and might pass negativity....but there will be other members tooooo who will take it positively.
So go ahead and all the best !!!

Hey,
This sounds as a very good concept. I would like to learn a bit more about it.
Please help me understand as to how will this help on the organisational front...will this be a motivational concept or is it to know employees better.
Please help me understand this as I would need to convince my management on this.
Also, is it essential to have two guests, can't we do it with one guest at one time...that will help us know the individual better...
Looking forward for comments / suggestions from seniors.

Dear Bhavna,
Coffee with HR, could be the best activity to add some fun in a regular work. This may be a good for us (HR) to initiate the talk in between employees and management or even with us.
why only two or three employees?
The idea is to carry out the new activity which can add some fun in the work environment, if we will do it one to one this may reduce the charm and effect of this.
i am yet to finalize the question which can be asked at the time of game. once it will be done i will share it with you all.
Kindly help me to draft the questions plzzzzzzzzz
thanks,
Payal

Dear Payal,
Thanks for sharing the idea, and too others also who have been positive with their feedback.
Another suggestion was that if it is possible can one senior level person also be present, like the CEO of the company cos' some companies also conduct this as "meet the CEO" meets where some of the departments nominate their best performer to meet the CEO for lunch / dinner.
Do share with us how the feedback has been to your initiative.
