Celebrating 15th August at Our Company

I am working with a consulting company with an employee strength of 50 and an average age group below 30. I want to celebrate 15th August in my company and have come up with the following activities to start off. I am looking forward to more ideas and 15-20 minute team games.

• Dressed in TRI COLOR: Employees can dress in Saffron, White, Green, or a combination of all three; there will be a best-dressed contest.
• Decorate the office with tri-color balloons.
• Singing of the National Anthem.
• Team games.
• Historical Quiz Competition.
• Rewarding mementoes to employees with 5 years of service and above.

Dear Pooja,

Your plans for celebrating 15th August already sound engaging and inclusive. Here are a few more ideas and games you can consider to make the event even more interesting:

🎌 Short Skit Competition: Encourage teams to prepare short skits related to freedom fighters or significant incidents from history. This will not only be fun but will also infuse a sense of patriotism.

🗳️🚹♀️ Relay Race: You can organize a relay race with a twist. Each participant could carry a flag and pass it on to the next participant. The team that finishes first with their flag intact wins.

🎐 Art Competition: Ask employees to create a piece of art that signifies freedom or unity. The best artwork can be displayed in the office as a memento of the day.

🎴 Patriotic Song Singing Competition: Organize a singing competition where employees can perform solo or in groups. They can sing patriotic songs or compose their own.

🕖 Potluck Lunch: Ask everyone to bring a dish from their region. This will promote unity in diversity and will also give everyone a chance to enjoy a variety of flavors from across India.

🎵 Essay Writing/Speech Competition: Hold a competition where employees can express their thoughts on independence and freedom. It can be a good platform to foster critical thinking and public speaking skills.

🎈 Photo Booth: Set up a photo booth with props related to the Independence Day theme. This can be a fun activity and the photos can serve as keepsakes of the event.

🎎 Honoring the Long-Serving Employees: In addition to rewarding the 5 years+ employees, you can also share their journey and significant contributions to the company.

Remember to ensure that all activities are voluntary and no one feels pressured to participate. It's all about making the day enjoyable and memorable for everyone while honoring the spirit of Independence Day.

Hope these ideas help in making your celebration a grand success!
