Attrition refers to employees who voluntarily left the organization over a specific time period. There are various ways to calculate attrition. Below are a few methods for your reference:

- Voluntary leavers / Closing headcount for the period
- Voluntary leavers / Average of Opening & Closing headcount for the period
- ((Voluntary Leavers x 100) / (Headcount during the period)) / 100

Where "headcount during the period" is calculated as Opening headcount + Hires/Acquisitions during the period.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Best regards

3. ((Voluntary Leavers x 100) / (HC during the period)) / 100, where HC during the period is calculated as Opening HC + Hires/Acquisition during the period.

Certainly! The basic formula to calculate the attrition rate is as follows:

Attrition Rate Formula

Attrition Rate = (Number of employees who left the company during a given period ÷ Average number of employees during the same period) x 100

Steps to Calculate Attrition Rate

- Determine the number of employees who left the company during a given period (e.g., a month, quarter, or year).
- Determine the average number of employees during the same period. To calculate the average, add the number of employees at the beginning and end of the period, then divide by 2.
- Divide the number of employees who left by the average number of employees, then multiply by 100 to get the percentage.

For example, if your company had 500 employees at the beginning of the year and 550 at the end of the year, with 50 employees leaving during the year, the attrition rate would be:

Attrition Rate = (50 ÷ ((500 + 550) ÷ 2)) x 100 = 9.09%
