hi i have joined an big IT company as a process associate ..at the time of joining they have not told me that i have to sign a 1 yr service agreement but after 3 months they are asking for it . is there anyway to stop that.. coz they have not informed while joining and during interview ...my manager told me no worries nothing is going to happen if i break the service agreement. What if i break the service agreement what would be the consequences ...
one thing more i dont have any clause of service agrement in my appointment letter plzzz help mee wt should i do??

Since the same is not mentioned in your appointment letter you need not have to execute the service bond. If you sign a service bond then the company will be at liberty to initiate legal proceeding against you in case you violate any of the terms and conditions mentioned therein. However the consequence and the enforceability of the service bond can be told only after scrutinizing the terms and conditions mentioned in the same.

If it is a big IT Company and if they have not told you at the time of offering, then it is a big blunder. Some HR executives take it for granted. Nothing will happen if you break the contract is not a valid advice. If it is a big company, then sign and continue as specified in the contract It is good for your career. Breaking in between sure will result in consequences which may not be pleasant
I have already written in this forum that contrary to many views, service contract still is a valid document Few clauses can definitely be questioned and one can give opinion only after examining the agreement and systems in the organisation
Should you sign or not is a question which has to be answered only by you as you know the circumstances you are in
