I have been working with a Pvt. Ltd. company since June 2011. Recently, I was informed that there are two PF account numbers with the same employer. The contributions are being deposited such that one month goes into Account A and another month into Account B. I noticed that some months have been left out, and some contributions have been deposited into both accounts simultaneously.

Resolution of Multiple EPF and EPS Accounts

Allocation of two accounts in EPF and EPS is not possible. By mistake, your company might have allocated two numbers. You can contact the EPF office, EDP section, and consolidate the two accounts into one account. All funds need to be transferred to one account before proceeding with the claiming process. These changes can only be made by an authorized person from the HR department.

You have to fill up Form No. 13 and get the same transferred to the existing number.

Just walk into the PF department and inform them that you would like to close one account permanently. Obtain the relevant forms they provide and ensure to complete the necessary procedures. Afterward, it is advisable to verify each month that the correct deductions are being posted by your HR department.

You are required to initiate the transfer of funds from one account to another account. Please ensure that separate claim forms, Form-19 and Form-10C, are submitted for the withdrawal of the two PF accounts.
