Leave and Presence Status Inquiry
Please suggest:
• If an employee works for 2 hours, what will be the status of leave?
• If an employee works for 6 hours, what will be the status of presence?
As per practice, we mark leave in the first case and full-day present in the second case. However, there is no guideline I have seen in any law. If you know, please inform.

There are no specific types referred to in the law regarding this matter. It is purely based on company policy. In some companies, an employee must work for at least 5 hours to be considered as having worked half a day. We might also consider the situation based on why an employee worked fewer than the required work hours. I suggest you prepare a policy referring to working hours. My suggestion assumes that you work for an IT company. This would not apply in an industry or an ITES company where Work From Home (WFM) is in practice.
