I am a 28-year-old mother on child leave for 3 years. I have a work experience of 1 year and 11 months with a reputed FMCG company as an HR Executive. I now want to get back to work, but I feel the 3-year gap is acting as a big hindrance. Is it really a big issue? Are my prospects really as meager as people around me tell me? I urgently need your advice on the same.

Getting a job is not a problem in today's world; it depends upon you. How much time you need to get back on your track. Having almost 2 years of experience doesn't make any difference. The only thing you should remember is your basics; the rest you can cope with the latest changes. I only want to say that, instead of asking others, you should be confident about yourself.

You don't need to find any job but find the employer who is looking forward to hiring talent like you. You may appear for countless interviews, but unless you meet the employer who values the professional excellence and stability that you offer, you won't land the job.
Enjoy your journey until then. During the interview, ask for feedback on why you did or didn't make it to the role. Try to list all the reasons why you have been rejected. It might help you prepare for the role that is meant for you.
