Dear Mr. Swapnil06,
Which company/unit are you working for?
If you said workers then you are entitled to be working as per Factories Act, As per the Factories Act, 1948 u/s 79, one day leave for every 20 days worked will be given If the worker or a staff (employed in a factory comes under the definition of the "worker") is in continuous service* & his total working days for the year would be 303 days [365days -52 sundays- 10 mandatory holidays as per festival & national holidays]. Then he will be eligible for 303/20= 15 days EARNED LEAVE (EL) for the subsequent year. Any unauthorised absent days to be calculated and deducted from he baove mentioned PL.
* Continuous service is defined as one should have worked for 240 days and in case of joining in the middle of the calander year the leaves should be calculated in pro-rata basis. Please refer Annual leave with wages under the Factories Act, 1948.
