Factory Act EL/CL Rules
As per the Factory Act EL/CL rules:
- **Earned Leave (EL):** For every 20 actual working days, you will earn one earned leave. This results in approximately 15 earned leaves in a year. The calculation is as follows: One year = 365 days - 52 weekly offs - 8 holidays = 305 days. Therefore, 305 days/20 = approximately 15 EL in a year.
- **Casual Leave (CL):** According to the Factory Act, the number of casual leaves is 7 in a year. You can avail of 2 leaves on a quarterly basis.

The leave policy has to be framed as per the company's guidelines. As you have clearly mentioned that you are in the service industry located in Gujarat, please refer to the Shop and Establishment Act of Gujarat, where the number of leaves is clearly defined.
