I need clarifictaon about calculation of gratuity. If some one worked for 6 years & 6 months exactly, kindly clarify whether employee is elligible for 6 years or 7 years gratuity. As Act Says "As per Gratuity Act, For every completed year of service or part thereof in excess of six months, the employer shall pay gratuity to an employee at the rate of fifteen days wages based on the rate of wages last drawn by the employee concerned”
Hi Samir, He/She is eligible for 7 years provided he has worked for 240 days in a year. Regards Hema
Dear Prasad ,
I have received this note from my consultant.
I am aware that there is no signature.
This is just a correspondence from RBI , which I assume is right
Whenever I shall get an authenticated copy, I shall post the same.
Regards/Shweta

Thanks Ms Shweta Nair. Really most important information and a valuable reminder for those who have forgotten. RBI has done good work for public interest. Thanks RBI. Chandrasekaran R
