Dear Seniors,
Felt good to have so much valuable responses.
Pl let me know one thing more, Mr. Gurumurthy saying that maximum 60000/- amount can be claimed in respect to EDLI.
Now pl go through the link, wherein it was written that maximum 100000 rupees can be availed from EDLI.
Citehr.com/244069-edli-calculation-case-death-during-service-period.html
One of my friends informed that if an employee has passed away, PF deptt. reimburse Rs. 100000 without making any sort of calculation.
Pl help on this. what parameters are taken while making calculation of edli amount for reimbursement.
Regards,
VSL

Dear Gurumurthy & Vishal,
Maximum amount of EDLI is enhanced from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 100,000. later it is enhanced to Rs. 1,30,000.
Normally the EDLI is (Death after 8.1.2011) 20 times of salary subject to a ceiling salary of Rs. 6500.

yes Abbasiti is right but edli ceiilng has no limit as it is contributed form total .05% edli paid as total of 24% contribution from organisation.
and 1st condition is dead employee's name must be on roll on date he/she died.
EDLI stands to benefit dead employee's nominees where child up to age 25yrs and widow untill remarry.

Dear Bhardwaj,
1. There is ceiling for both EDLI contribution and EDLI benefit. It is Rs. 32.50 and Rs. 1,30,000 respectively.
2. EDLI contribution is not 0.05%, but 0.5%.
3. EDLI contribution is in addition to 24% PF contribution.

Yes contribution is .5% means .50 and not "point five".
and edli is calculated on total 24% as I have mentioned in my first date.
For your 1st point, I appreciate.
